The intuitive Navigator Client interface allows multiple operators to manage their work from any Windows or Macintosh workstation on the network, while the Navigator Workflow Server directs output production through up to five RIPs.
Drag and drop functionality, in addition to traditional job submission methods, make the Navigator GPS workflow very simple to use. Navigator GPS is modular and expandable, providing a PDF option that includes PDF creation, preflight controls, and the ability to incorporate Certified PDF™.
Fully zoomable on-screen preview of actual high-res RIPed data at your workstation allowing you to check the job in detail before committing to making plates or other final output.
View individual separations, use on screen measuring tools, adjust preview colour of spot inks, pan and zoom using the navigator window and more.
Zoom in to see high detail of screen or traps, here we've zoomed into our trapping test and enabled the "Trap Black" function of the previewer so we can see through the black to check if it's trapping, knocking out or over-printing.
Hot Folders
All editions of Navigator Workflow support "hot folder" inputs allowing either manual or automated placing of files into a particular folder on your network for automatic collection by Navigator Workflow and processing through a designated sequence of workflow steps. Also available as standard with Navigator Elite, or an option to any other edition, are powerful scriptable hot folders allowing developers and power users to perform almost unlimited pre-processing of files.
Ink Remapping
Everyone gets jobs delivered where either spot colours have accidentally been used where you really need to print in four colours, or someone has picked one name for a colour in part of the job (for example a logo in Illustrator created in Rubine Red), and then used another entirely different name for the same colour in another part of the job (for example adding text in a colour they call "My Red"). Ink Remapping is the cure!
Preflighting
It's no secret that printers who take in artwork from external sources encounter some horrible files! Even 'professional' designers supplying supposedly "print-ready" PDF files make mistakes, let alone the casual or home user who's putting together their print literature in Publisher, Word or even Power Point and sending you PDF files that are practically unprintable! That's where Preflighting comes to the rescue.
Imposition
Navigator Workflow Imposition integrator allows you to work with almost any imposition package you choose but is especially suited to work with Dyngram's next generation inp02 imposition plugins. Imposition module allows direct imposition of files at your desktop right in the middle of the workflow, storing single pages and completed impositions in the friendly Navigator Client ensuring further processing is a breeze.
Proofing
Whatever your proofing needs: Content, Soft, Imposition, Quality Colour or ROOM:- Navigator Workflows have got you covered! Available as options at all levels of Navigator Workflow, or as standard with Navigator Elite you can use a proofing method that suits each task perfectly.
Support for a huge range of printers and proofers from the laser printer in the sales office to your wide format Epson, Canon or HP inkjet in the studio, allows you to output the correct type of proof right where you need it.
Trapping
Trapping in Navigator Workflow is performed by the Navigator Harlequin RIP using the powerful TrapPro option. TrapPro will apply user defined rules to automatically generate traps between colours that are a "kiss fit" in your jobs to prevent unsightly white gaps appearing in the event of mis-registration during the printing process.
TrapPro not only works with vector-to-vector traps, such as text-to-object, or object-to-object, but also against images so text or objects that overlap an image will also be trapped.
Screening
Screening in Navigator Workflows is performed by the Navigator Harlequin RIP using one of a range of advanced screening options to provide you with excellent quality output every time.
Easily select different screening sets of dot shape, screen frequency (line screen), angles and more from your Navigator Workflow client to produce output suitable for your target print process. Navigator Workflows are available with Harlequin Precision Screening (HPS AM screens), Harlequin Dispersed Screening (HDS FM screens) and Harlequin Cross-modulated Screens (HXM Hybrid screens).
Output Devices
Navigator Workflows support a huge range of different output devices from desktop printers, through film devices and a wide range of CtP systems. With over 250 output devices supported directly or through TIFF catchers Prepress UK can output to almost any device in the market.
